Make Sure To Always Purchase The Latest Designs In Sterling Radiators

The Sterling L & A line, which includes the LT9500 and AT9500, was a very popular radiator that was introduced in the early 2000's.  The LT9500 was very popular amongst the Car hauling community.   The Sterling LT9500 Radiator was also used in other models such as the 2003-2007 FLD and classic models as it was used to replace large bolt on radiators.

However, the introduction of this radiator was a disaster for Sterling & Freightliner.  The LT9500 Radiator was one of the widest Plastic Aluminum Radiator up to that point at 39" and consequently there were many issues with leaks.   Due to the extreme width, there were many problems with the Sterling radiator flexing and causing corner leaks.  The original manufacturer upgraded the design to add a full length reinforcement plate as well as tube supports in the end tubes.

Problem Solved Reinforcement

These updates, or "Rev levels" solved the issue and the radiator quickly went from one of the highest failure rates in the industry to a normal failure rate.   However, many aftermarket companies that were trying to build the Sterling Radiator ended up duplicating the original design.  Many customers thought they were getting a quality replacement part but were receiving an inferior design which ended up failing at the same high levels as the original Sterling AT9500 radiator.  At SFR, we make sure all our replacement radiators reflect the latest designs and "rev levels".  As you can see in the pic below, our Sterling Radiator reflects the latest design.  If you want to see evidence of how serious we take our quality, click on this link of SFR Destroying Brand New Volvo VN Radiators (Hyperlink http://swamp80.com/clients/sfradiator/index.php/wp/2015/10/06/destroying-volvo-vn-radiators/) that were not properly made.
